About FWD ASSIST HQ: Veteran Education

Veterans shouldn't return home only to fight a new battle with the VA.

Our Story

FWD Assist HQ exists for one reason: veterans shouldn't come home only to fight a new battle with the VA. The claims system is slow, confusing, and wrapped in red tape. Missed evidence, unclear requirements, long delays, and denials wear veterans down. Filing a disability claim, building an appeal, or securing survivor benefits should be a straightforward process. Instead, most veterans are left guessing.

FWD Assist HQ was created to remove that guesswork.

We provide veteran-led education, clear step-by-step "how to" guidance, and tactical tools built to simplify the VA claims process. From preparing a fully developed claim to navigating a C&P exam to choosing the right appeal lane, everything is designed to give you clarity, control, and a fighting chance.

This isn't theory. It's built from real work with real veterans. Years of reviewing claims, developing evidence, troubleshooting denials, and seeing what actually wins. The system has rules. When you understand them, you gain the advantage.

And here's the line in the sand: We stand firmly against unaccredited claim sharks and consultants who charge veterans thousands of dollars for work veterans can do themselves or receive for free from legally accredited representatives. Veterans lose money, get bad advice, and often end up worse off than when they started. You deserve better. Do not hand over your benefits or your bank account to someone who cannot legally represent you. Work with an accredited representative — or learn to advocate for yourself with confidence.

Your military service was the first mission. Securing the benefits you earned is the next one. With the right training and tools, no veteran has to face it alone.

About the Founder — Joshua Christopherson

U.S. Air Force & Air National Guard Veteran

VA disability claims educator. Air Force and Air National Guard disabled veteran with hands-on VSO experience.

Joshua Christopherson founded FWD Assist HQ after dedicating his post-service career to helping veterans and their families work through the VA system. After separating from the military, he completed multiple business degrees, including an MBA, and went on to serve in roles focused on education, program leadership, and business operations.

He stepped directly into veterans services, where he has worked face-to-face with thousands of veterans. His hands-on VSO experience put him directly in the room with veterans on disability claims, appeals, evidence development, and survivor benefits. That frontline experience shows him exactly where the system works and where it fails. He builds claim files, develops evidence, prepares vets for C&P exams, and fights to secure benefits for survivors and families.

  • He watched veterans succeed when they had structure and solid evidence.
  • He witnessed veterans fail when they were handed bad advice or pushed toward claim sharks and unaccredited consultants looking for a payout.
  • He worked with families who were overwhelmed simply because no one ever explained the process in plain English.

Those lessons formed the foundation of FWD Assist HQ. The mission is simple: provide veterans with clear instruction, solid tools, and the confidence to handle the system without paying predatory fees.

FWD Assist HQ is veteran-led, education-first, and built on the belief that every veteran deserves clear guidance, ethical support, and a fair shot at the benefits they earned.

This work is personal. This mission is real. And this platform exists so no veteran has to fight the VA system blind, alone, or exploited by people who never earned the right to profit from their service.

Our Mission

FWD Assist HQ exists to educate, equip, and empower veterans and their families to secure the benefits, stability, and quality of life they've earned.

We cut through VA bureaucracy with field-manual clarity, peer-to-peer training, and practical tools built for real-world results. Every book, course, and guide is veteran-built and veteran-tested, designed to give you the knowledge, strategies, and confidence to own the system like a pro.

Our Commitments

  • IntegrityClear, honest, regulation-aligned guidance you can trust.
  • Clarity — Complex laws and policies broken into direct, step-by-step instructions.
  • Advocacy — Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with veterans against bureaucracy and misinformation.
  • Action — Practical tools — checklists, templates, tactical guides — ready to use on day one.

Our mission is simple: move veterans forward, faster, stronger, and better prepared, toward the benefits and the life they have earned.

How We're Different From Consultants

Unaccredited Consultants

  • Charge $1,000–$10,000+ to "handle" your claim
  • Cannot legally represent you before the VA
  • Often use generic templates and cookie-cutter approaches
  • Make promises they can't keep
  • Leave you dependent on them for future claims

FWD Assist HQ

  • Books and courses starting at $14.97
  • Education-first — we teach you to advocate for yourself
  • Content built on 38 CFR + VA manuals (regulation-based)
  • Clear disclaimers — no false promises
  • Builds your knowledge for life

Important: What We Are Not

  • Not legal advice. We provide educational materials, not legal representation.
  • Not affiliated with the VA. We are an independent veteran-owned education company.
  • Not a claims service. We don't file claims on your behalf or represent you before the VA.

For legal representation, work with an accredited attorney, claims agent, or VSO — many offer free services to veterans.

A Veteran's Memoir of Life After the Uniform

Before the books and tools, there was the transition. The Rest of Us is Joshua's account of what happens after the uniform comes off — the disorientation, the system, the fight to rebuild on your own terms. It is the story behind FWD Assist HQ.
